Sunlight
Before attempting to remove the stain on fabric, use the edge of a butter knife and very carefully scrape away the excess sauce trying to ensure you do not spread the stain. Soak the fabric in cool water with a bit of liquid dish soap added for about 30 minutes. Hang the fabric out in the sunlight for an afternoon to fade away the stain.
White Vinegar
For carpet, pour a small amount of white vinegar directly onto the stain. Allow to set for 15 minutes. Using a white cloth, blot the stain until it is removed. Adding a bit of cold water to the cloth will help pull the stain out as well.
